Vote-by-Mail begins September 23!

 

Any voter may apply for vote-by-mail by completing the Application for Vote-By-Mail Ballot and returning the application to the Gloucester County Clerk.

After you complete your Vote-By-Mail Ballot, return your ballot by one of three ways, mail it back, place it in one of Gloucester County’s Secure Ballot Drop Box Locations or return it to the Gloucester County Board of Elections Office.

Open Public Records Act

 

The Legislature finds and declares it to be the public policy of New Jersey that:

All records shall be accessible

  • government records shall be readily accessible for inspection, copying, or examination by the citizens of this State, with certain exceptions, for the protection of the public interest, and any limitations on the right of access accorded by P.L.1963, c.73 (C.47:1A-1 et seq.) as amended and supplemented, shall be construed in favor of the public’s right of access.

All records are public unless they meet a permitted exemption

  • all government records shall be subject to public access unless exempt from such access by: P.L.1963, c.73 (C.47:1A-1 et seq.) as amended and supplemented; any other statute; resolution of either or both houses of the Legislature; regulation promulgated under the authority of any statute or Executive Order of the Governor; Executive Order of the Governor; Rules of Court; any federal law, federal regulation, or federal order.

How do I get an OPRA request form?

There are 3 options to get an OPRA request form:

  • You can download a sample OPRA request form HERE.  Each Municipal Clerk’s office should provide you with the appropriate form.
  • You can complete and submit a County OPRA application electronically HERE.
  • NJ law allows an email or any written correspondence to constitute an official OPRA request. No official OPRA Form is actually required!
